Champagne winemaker

Delabaye & Fils

Champagne Maurice Delabaye et Fils is an independent, fifth-generation winemaker. (Négociant Manipulant).

The Delabaye family – Germain, his wife Sylvie, and their sons Victor and Yann – cultivate 11 hectares of vineyards on the northern bank of the Marne. They own parcels in some of the best locations: Grand Cru, Aÿ, and Premier Cru, Hautvillers, and Cumières.

Their champagnes are energetic, versatile, and vibrant.

Philosophy

Preserving the tradition and character of the family estate – currently in its fifth generation and still independent – is paramount, naturally coupled with a deep respect for nature. The winemaking family is open, friendly, and completely unpretentious. Their champagnes are just like that: approachable, yet exciting and precise.

The story

For five generations, the Delabaye family has cultivated the Champagne tradition, passionately managing their vineyards and producing wine at their estate in Damery, west of Épernay. Since 2001, Germain Delabaye has managed the Champagne house and relocated the estate's headquarters from Cumières to Damery.

The estate comprises nearly 11 hectares, spread across ten communes in the Marne Valley, which includes highly prestigious vineyard sites – Grand Cru Aÿ, Premier Cru Cumières, Hautvillers, and Dizy. Sons Victor and Yann have also been actively involved in the family business since 2014 and 2022, respectively.

The vines are continuously cultivated with the utmost care. A high-quality selection of the most sought-after grape varieties in Champagne is made: Meunier for its roundness and fruitiness, Pinot Noir for its power, and Chardonnay as a symbol of freshness and vibrancy.

Each cuvée from the Champagne house Maurice Delabaye et Fils tells the story of Champagne and expresses the character of the house.
